Customized Douro Valley Experience

The entire trip was. It was excellent. We really felt we had a unique experience. We loved every minute of it. Ricardo, our guide, was awesome – he had great passion and knowledge. Being a group of six you felt you were out with friends. We’d recommend this trip to all.

This experience was amazing! This was the first experience I had ever booked through Airbnb, because José and the trip were so great I will definitely be booking more. We went to two wineries and took a boat trip down the river. The wineries we’re very welcoming and not touristy at all. José was awesome, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the region. You could also tell the wine makers and the boat captain really cared about what they were doing and the Douro Valley. The lunch at the second winery was delicious and included plenty of wine of different types. I will be recommending this trip to anyone that even hints that they may visit Porto!

Wonderful day trip to the Douro Valley. The wine was fantastic – we were taken to a really good mix of wineries with each specializing in a different variety and method. The boat trip was a great way to see the valley from a different aspect. The food, both on the boat and at the last winery, was delicious. The day was expertly curated and guided. We were especially lucky with a really fun, interesting mix of people on our tour.

We had an unforgettable day touring with Riccardo. Riccardo is an excellent guide. He is knowledgeable and passionate about history and wine making. Just after spending a day with him I already learned a lot about wine and the Douro Valley region in general. The vineyards he took us to were both special in their own rights. The first historic with a modern twist, the second cozy and private. The second vineyard was especially wonderful, because it’s been family run for 8 generations, and the home cooked meal was delicious. Not to mention we got to taste lots of fabulous local wine at both places! Oh, and the boat trip, both the captain and skipper were friendly and knowledgeable about wine making and local history. They also provided us with snacks for the boat ride. To sum it up, this experience is totally worth it! I’d recommend it to anyone who loves wine, history, good food, and beautiful scenery.

José was an amazing tour guide. The tour was an absolute highlight of our trip and I’d highly recommend him. The tour was amazing but Jose’s personal touch and engagement with the group was absolute top class. Having him there added such a great dynamic to the group and helped ensure everyone had an amazing time. Cannot recommend this tour enough.

This was a wonderful trip. I never felt rushed. It was clear they carefully planned a wonderful and relaxing experience for us. The timing was excellent. Access to the winemakers was my favorite part. Pasquale, our boat tour guide was passionate and lovely. I would do this trip all over again.

You must take this tour if you want a relaxing, informative introduction to the Douro Valley. All of the stars align on this tour– José is kind, knowledgeable, and has a wonderful sense of humor, the scenery is stunning, and the wine and food are exceptional! The structure of the tour is very well planned so that you can be engaged and learn a lot, but also have time to just take in the surroundings and appreciate all that the region has to offer. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves wine and good company! Thank you José for such a memorable day!

This tour transformed our visit to Portugal. We had an incredible time with José. He is so enthusiastic. The lunch was as authentic of an experience as one could hope to find. The vineyards we visited were small and unique, which felt more intimate. The boat ride on the river was the highlight of the day. Highly recommend this tour. Thank you José!

We loved our day with these guys! It was so much fun. The drive through the area was spectacular! So beautiful. They really made it a personal experience. The tours to the wineries were educational and very well done. The meal at the family winery was exceptional! We also loved the boat tour of the Douro Valley. The tour guides on the boat were fun and had a lot of great information about the area. Overall, this tour exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to spend an enjoyable day getting to know the Douro Valley.

Surprisingly good. Not much of a wine person myself, but had an amazing time. The sights during the drive up were breathtaking. The farm wineries were cool, but what I really loved were the stories behind the wines that Ricardo and José shared with the group. The food was great and the group was pretty fun. Overall an awesome experience.

Words canot express how wonderful this experience was! José brought us along a journey to the beautiful Duoro valley. This is something you canot miss when you come to Portugal and this was the best way to experience all of it! Through Jose’s knowledge and experience we discovered more about the region, its history and wines. Everything was perfect! I would recommend this to everyone!!

Bruno e Ricardo were wonderful hosts. The are very knowledgeable about the history of Douro Wine Region. We enjoyed a authentic experience, from the wine tours to the boat cruise. The scenery was beautiful. This tour was truly worth the many paid.

Bruno and José were kind and informative, and made you feel as though you were being hosted and toured by friends. The day was a perfect blend of scenery, delicious wine at family-run vineyards, food and information. You can’t go wrong with this guys.

I highly recommend this experience. Jose gave us a terrific tour from a local’s perspective in a very comfortable atmosphere. He offered both interesting and humorous commentary, which both passed downtime effectively and enriched the experience.
